According to a recent report, the acquisition of Ubisoft is underway, with the founding Guillemot family seeking to complete the deal without losing control of the company.
As Reuters reports, the Guillemot is in talks with Tencent, Ubisoft's second-largest shareholder and one of the Chinese technology and media giants.

At the center of the story is a management-led acquisition of Ubisoft, the largest video game company in France and creator of the popular Assassin's Creed.
The Guillemot family is said to aim to retain control of the company, while Tencent is examining the possibilities of a potential deal.
Tencent, for its part, has expressed the desire to gain greater influence over future board decisions, such as cash flow management, by offering financing for the acquisition. At the same time, the Chinese company seeks to prevent the possibility of a hostile takeover of Ubisoft by other investors.

The first information about the possible acquisition of Ubisoft by Tencent appeared in October. At that time there was talk of joint discussions, aiming at stabilizing and increasing the company's value.
One of the proposals considered was for Ubisoft to go public. Ubisoft later confirmed the discussions, stating that it was considering various "strategic options" to meet the needs and expectations of shareholders .
