The most impressive feature is the Recorder, which was initially introduced exclusively for the Pixel Watch 3.

This app lets you record audio directly from your wrist, and then you can open it, along with a transcript, on your phone (this feature requires a Pixel phone, however). Notable updates also include improved camera controls and the ability to launch apps in a grid view. This is a nice surprise, as previously apps could only be viewed in list format, which made navigation difficult if you had a lot of them installed.
Wear OS 5 also brings a number of battery-saving improvements. When Google announced it at I/O earlier this year, the company said that running a marathon would consume about 20 percent less battery.

If you don't see the update right away, don't worry. While it's starting today, Google says it will roll out throughout the week and will be gradual, depending on your carrier and device.
