What security measures can someone take to avoid ransomware attacks?

One of the most important security measures is to install and update a reliable antivirus. These programs can detect and remove ransomware before it can cause damage. It is also important to keep your operating system and all applications up to date. Regularly backing up your important data is another crucial step. It is also important to be careful with the emails and attachments you receive. Many times, ransomware enters your computer through emails that seem innocent, but contain malicious links or attachments. Finally, you can use tools that restrict the execution of automated applications and links, known as application execution controllers. These tools can stop ransomware from executing before it has a chance to lock your files.
