In a time of economic uncertainty, Vanillaware faces challenges in creating Unicorn Overlord

When Vanillaware created 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, they literally put everything into the game financially. Before the game's release, the studio had exhausted its financial capital and was hoping that 13 Sentinels would be a success. Fortunately, that was indeed the case, as the game managed to be both a critical and commercial success. Now, the studio is back in that situation with their newest title.

Vanillaware has already revealed that Unicorn Overlord is the biggest game they've ever made, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it cost a fortune. While no exact amount was given, Vanillaware CEO George Kamitani said that the studio had once again run out of funds. This means the pressure is on them again, and Unicorn Overlord should bring in big profits.
