Salesforce on Thursday announced new data solutions and AI tools for healthcare workers that may help reduce their burdensome administrative burden.

The first tool is called Einstein Copilot: Health Actions, and will allow doctors to book appointments, summarize information and send reports, according to an announcement. Salesforce also announced Assessment Generation, which will allow organizations to digitize health assessments like surveys without the need for manual typing or coding.
Both AI tools are based on Einstein Platform 1 , which healthcare organizations can use to integrate medical data from disparate sources like insurance claims systems and electronic health records into one place.
Dealing with bureaucratic tasks that require a lot of work, such as submitting documents, is a major problem for healthcare workers. According to a recent Athenahealth survey, it is one of the main factors leading to physician fatigue. More than 90% of physicians report feeling exhausted on a “daily basis,” the survey revealed, and 64% of doctors said they feel overwhelmed by administrative demands.

The workload of office work is often exacerbated because health data is stored in many different databases and formats, making it difficult and time-consuming for clinicians to locate the information they need. Salesforce said doctors can use Einstein Copilot: Health Actions to create a patient summary that includes details like a medications , clinical service requests, diagnoses, and tests. By creating a summary using AI, doctors will no longer have to spend time searching for all of these items individually.
Salesforce announced that its AI Assessment Generation tool will be generally available this summer, while Einstein Copilot: Health Actions will be available for use by the end of the year. All features and functionality are also expected to be HIPAA compliant by this summer, the company added.
