Tinder , the popular dating app, is preparing to expand its ID feature Verification for its users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico, with the aim of increasing the security and authenticity of users' profiles.
The rollout is expected to be complete in the US and Mexico by the summer, and in the UK and Brazil by the spring, according to an announcement made by the company today.

The ID Verification process involves taking a selfie video and submitting a valid driver's license or passport. This is done to ensure that the user matches the photos on their profile. In addition, the date of birth listed on the ID document is checked. This feature is accessible through the user's profile page.
After a successful pilot program in Australia and New Zealand, Tinder reported that users who completed identity verification had 67% more matches than those who did not.
Tinder will add a blue camera to users who complete Photo Verification and a blue ID badge to those who complete ID Verification. Users who complete both verifications will receive a blue confirmation badge, indicating their authenticity.
Pamela Zaballa, CEO of NO MORE, praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of safety and trust in online dating. Ted Bunch, chief development officer at A Call To Men, agreed, stressing that identity verification is a vital tool for users.
