In iOS 17.4, which is currently in beta form, Apple is adding an interesting feature to the Podcasts app on iPhones.
Now you can read transcripts while listening to your favorite podcasts. This new addition will allow you to enjoy the content with even more pleasure and comfort!

Apple is adding support for automatic transcriptions to the Podcasts app, offering users an alternative way to enjoy Podcast content, rather than just listening to what is being said.
If you're familiar with the lyrics feature in Apple Music, you'll find many similarities. To listen to a podcast, simply tap the microphone icon in the bottom left corner of the full-screen media player.
Tap the automatic transcription button that appears to fill the screen. The transcription automatically scrolls and highlights the text that is currently playing while the episode is playing. You can also manually scroll the transcription and even tap on a sentence to jump to that point in the podcast. Text selections can also be highlighted for copying and pasting elsewhere.
Additionally, at the bottom of the screen you will find a Search button that allows you to search the transcription for specific words or phrases and jump directly to that point in the transcription. This way, you can tap to jump to exactly where you are interested and listen to the corresponding audio clip.
You can also access transcripts from the “Up Next” section on the “Home” tab. Simply long-press on a podcast episode to bring up the “View Transcript” option in the drop-down menu. Additionally, if you’re on the episode details page, tap the “ellipsis” button (three dots) in the top right to bring up the same option.

At this time, not all podcast episodes have transcripts. However, Apple says that transcripts for past episodes will be added gradually. Transcripts are available in English, French, German, and Spanish. Additionally, podcast hosts have the option to upload their own transcripts instead of using the automatic generation.
The transcription feature comes as part of update , which is already available to developers. Apple plans to release it to the general public in March.
