Purina is responding to rumors of problems with its pet food after unfounded complaints spread via TikTok and Facebook.
Company spokeswoman Lorie Westhoff said there is no data confirming problems with Purina products and that the rumors are not true.

According to reports, consumers are expressing concern about potential health issues in their pets after consuming Purina Pro Plan products. The company rejects these allegations and considers the rumors an attempt to cause concern for the benefit of other companies.
Pet owners have mobilized and decided to boycott Purina, as reports are circulating online of animals becoming ill and dying after consuming its products. However, Purina insists there is no evidence of problems with its products.
The company revealed that some of the complaints come from owners who are in a positive mood and want to help, while others may be exploiting the situation for advertising purposes.
Purina states that there is no connection to a previous recall of its products in 2023, which was due to an incorrect food supplier, and that it is not related to the current rumors.
