SpaceX: Plans to Sell Shares Worth $175 Billion

Elon Musk's SpaceX is planning to sell shares worth up to $175 billion.

SpaceX stock sale

SpaceX attracted a $150 billion valuation in June when it last raised capital. The company also reportedly raised $750 million in a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz in January, at a valuation of $137 billion.

At a potential valuation, SpaceX would rank among the most valuable companies in the world, surpassing companies like Comcast and Disney – both worth around $167 billion.

Founded in 2002 by Elon Musk, SpaceX aims to colonize Mars and be a leader in the race to explore space. In the first nine months of the year, it carried out 69 launches compared to 30 by the Chinese space agency, SpaceX's closest rival.
The second Starship test flight failed again in November, but it achieved a longer flight than the first explosive launch.

Starship vehicle to date. It aims to be fully recyclable and be used to transport passengers to Mars.
After two years of losses, the company reported a profit of $55 million for the first quarter of 2023, on revenue of $1.5 billion.

SpaceX stock sale

Elon Musk last month denied reports that SpaceX was considering taking Starlink – its satellite internet division – public next year.
