V4 Superchargers: Tesla brings them to the United States

Tesla has begun rolling out its new V4 Superchargers in the United States. The new version of the charging station is critical for the Cybertruck and opens up the network to other electric vehicles.

The V4 Supercharger program has been delayed in its expansion. We've been hearing about the new charging station for about a year now, while a few stations have been activated in Europe and Asia in recent months . So far, no construction has taken place.

In recent days, we've learned of at least three V4 Supercharger stations already under development in the United States. One of these charging stations is being installed in Wilsonville, Oregon (spotted by the Tesla Motors Club, photo by pdx_m3s).

In Sparks, Nevada, Tesla is also upgrading a V3 Supercharger station to a V4, which features both the new payment screen seen on some new V4s in Europe and the Magic Dock installed on some V3 Superchargers in the US.

This could be one of the first V4 Superchargers to be open to non-Tesla electric vehicles. A new V4 Supercharger has also been spotted under construction in Prattville, Alabama.

Tesla hasn't yet put these stations into operation, but there's a clear modernization of the V4 Superchargers in the United States. The new V4 Supercharger is really important for expanding the charging network, as the new format, which features a cable that's 3 feet longer, will be critical for adapting the charging experience to the Cybertruck and non-Tesla electric vehicles.

United States

We've seen the Cybertruck charge at V3 Superchargers and it's doable, but you have to park the truck in a near-perfect position to reach the charging port on the connector.

This is also a problem with Tesla's decision to open up its Supercharger network to electric cars from other manufacturers, which often have the charging port in various locations around vehicles . The new longer cable will make it easier to support a variety of vehicles, as well as larger vehicles like the Cybertruck, which is expected to be released any day now.

Tesla's V4 Superchargers create a new standard in electric charger technology, offering significant improvements over previous versions.

Charging speed

One of the critical improvements offered by the V4 Superchargers is charging speed. Specifically, the V4 Superchargers have a higher charging capacity, making the charging process significantly faster compared to the company's older versions.

Accessibility

Additionally, Tesla’s V4 Superchargers have the ability to support more electric vehicles at the same time. This is extremely important for the overall convenience of the charging process and the faster integration of electric vehicles into everyday life.

High temperature performance

V4 Superchargers also manage to provide increased performance in high temperature conditions, something that previous versions did not offer. In extreme temperature conditions, Tesla's digital systems enhance the performance of V4 chargers, ensuring even more stable and reliable operation.

Compatibility with standard charging system

Finally, the V4 Superchargers are compatible with CCS (Combined Charging System) – which is increasingly popular in the electric vehicle sector – making them flexible and offering them an advantage compared to previous versions of Tesla chargers.
