“ Based on our investigation, the exposed personal information may include your name, date of birth, social security number or other government-issued identification number (such as a driver’s license number or passport number), and information related to your relationship with Paramount ,” the company said
After discovering the incident, the company took action to secure the affected systems and launched an investigation to investigate the extent and scope of the breach.
Paramount has hired a cybersecurity expert to assist in the investigation of the attack, and is also cooperating with law enforcement.

In addition, it is reported that measures are being upgraded security to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again.
The data breach affected fewer than 100 people
According to a statement from Paramount to BleepingComputer, the company conducted an investigation and determined that an unauthorized party had access to certain files from its systems. However, it says that fewer than 100 people were affected by the data breach , and that they have been notified of the incident, as have the relevant authorities.

Paramount has not yet disclosed whether the people affected are employees or customers (e.g. Paramount+ subscribers).
No details have been given about the hack and data breach, but according to BleepingComputer it is not a ransomware, nor is it related to the recent wave of MoveIT attacks by the Clop gang.

Paramount is a leading entertainment and streaming company whose portfolio includes a long list of network, studio and streaming brands such as CBS, Showtime Networks, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount+. It has over 4.3 billion subscribers to its services in more than 180 countries.
As you can imagine, a data breach affecting such a large company is a serious problem. Fortunately, according to Paramount Global, fewer than 100 people were affected, but such an incident is negative for the company's reputation. Furthermore, this breach shows that no company, no matter how large, is invulnerable. Hackers are always finding ways to penetrate systems, which is why security must be given great emphasis.
