On Sunday, Elon Musk announced that Twitter 's new logo will be an X , replacing the iconic blue bird we've come to associate the platform with.

“ X.com now points to twitter.com ,” Tesla ’s CEO tweeted Sunday afternoon. “ The X logo will be released later today ,” he added.
Musk, who bought the platform for $44 billion last October, said on Twitter in the early hours of Sunday that he intended to replace the bird with an “X” by Monday, as long as a suitable design was offered.

The bird in the Twitter logo becomes an X
Musk had changed the company's official name in April to X Holdings Corp, to reflect his vision of creating "X, the Everything app" that would offer social media and payment features, similar to those of WeChat in China.
The change will certainly cause a lot of confusion for many users . Musk's decisions and the changes he has brought since taking over the platformhave already caused various reactions at times.
Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarinoconfirmed the launch of the X brand on Sunday, writing on Twitter: “It’s an incredibly rare thing – in life or business – to get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made a huge impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go even further, transforming the global town square.”

Yaccarino said X will be “focused on audio, video, messaging, payments” and will be a “global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities.” She added: “X will be the platform that can offer … everything.”

Today, he made a new tweet in which he shows an X logo and writes “The X is here! Let’s do it!”
The plan for Twitter's rebranding was first revealed, as expected, on account , when he tweeted: "And soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds."
A subsequent post added: “If a good enough X logo is published tonight, we’ll roll it out worldwide tomorrow.”
Twitter's website says its logo, which depicts the blue "Larry T Bird" as Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, is "our most recognizable asset," adding: "That's why we protect it so closely."

The changes Musk is bringing are breathing new life into Twitter, now X. The billionaire wants to create a new integrated platform that will excite users. As X enters a new era, with new features and a new focus, it is expected to continue to influence global communication.
It remains to be seen how users will react . While some Musk fans are cheering the change, longtime users of the service aren’t too thrilled. Marques Brownlee, who joined the service in 2009, says he’ll continue to call it Twitter. Musk replied: “ Not for long .”
