Clips posted to TikTok and YouTube show the F8 accelerating down a roadway after leaving the Cypress Cars & Coffee event on Saturday, before swerving and eventually nose-diving into a concrete divider, partially lifting the monocoque into the air and sending pieces flying across all three lanes of traffic.
Somewhat ironically, the Ferrari pulled onto the road right behind a police car, which explains how it arrived at the scene before the fans who were running there from the end of the road.
The car was owned and driven by a local collector, who was not seriously injured, according to the Cars Across Texas YouTube. Harris County police, who were already at the scene, appear to be closing the road and providing assistance.

Cars Across Texas reports that the owner only took delivery of the car last week, adding another layer of sadness to the situation. The channel also reports that the driver “still has two Lambos at home,” meaning the F8 wasn’t his only source of entertainment.
Although we are unable to know for sure, the damage to the car appears extensive enough to suggest that the model has been completely destroyed.
While it's hard to feel bad for an owner who has two Lamborghinis in their driveway to ease the pain of this loss, it's a reminder that just because you can step on it, doesn't mean you should.
