
Ferrari has unveiled the new SF90 Stradale XX at the Fiorano test track in Italy. Unlike previous XX models, which were intended for use at Ferrari's private track events, the SF90 XX Stradale and its Spider sibling will be road-legal.

The SF90 XX will also be more affordable than previous XX models, with European prices starting at €770,000 for the Coupe and €850,000 for the Spider, including 22% sales tax. Ferrari will build 799 Coupes and 599 Spiders, which have been pre-ordered to customers.
The SF90 Stradale XX features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with new pistons and a more efficient cooling system, increasing power by 17hp to 786hp. The three electric motors remain unchanged, but can deliver a combined maximum power of 229hp, 12hp more than the regular SF90. Combined maximum power is now 1015hp, ahead of the Lamborghini Revuelto's 1001hp. Both XX versions are 22kg lighter than their regular siblings, but still weigh 3440kg for the Coupe and 3660kg for the Spider due to the mass of the hybrid system and 8kWh battery.

The most significant changes to the SF90 Stradale XX are aerodynamic, with a large spoiler at the rear of the car, a new front splitter and a movable active Gurney wing. These changes have increased downforce by 310lbs over the standard SF90 at 155mph. The SF90 XX also features advanced driver-friendly technology, including a traction management system designed to operate between grip and slip, an improved version of the ABS Evo system and an additional boost mode that drains the battery pack to maximise track performance in qualifying mode.
The existing SF90 Stradale is already faster around a lap of Fiorano than the LaFerrari that previously topped Ferrari's road car charts. There's no doubt that this upgraded version will soon prove to be the fastest of all time. The question is whether using the XX for a road car will lead to its use on others.
