The Galaxy S23 FE may not launch soon, but the device is still on a very good track. Samsung will likely unveil the new FE phone at the end of 2023. However, if the early rumors prove accurate, it may struggle to sell the phone in large quantities.
Samsung does not intend to release a Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S23 FE
Recent rumors have suggested that Samsung will ship the Galaxy S23 FE with its in-house Exynos 2200 processor. Several sources have reported the same, and now we have further confirmation from Twitter tipster @Tech_Reve. The rumors claim that the upcoming FE phone will “definitely” use that old Exynos chipset. Furthermore, Samsung has no plans to offer the device in a Snapdragon version—instead, the Exynos 2200 will power it globally.

Samsung used this chipset in last year's naurachides of the Galaxy S22 series in certain markets, including Europe. While this may sound hopeful, the story is a little different. The Exynos 2200 is not the best naurachides chip of its generation - it has some significant power and performance problems. The problem lies in the foundry tech of the Korean company. The chips manufactured by the company have historically had such problems, and the same happened with the Exynos 2200.
The problems became so big that Samsung hasn’t launched a new flagship chipset since then. It didn’t use Exynos processors in the Galaxy S23 series. The latest flagship smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon chip worldwide, and the gains in power and performance are obvious. However, the company now seems to be equipping the Galaxy S23 FE with the Exynos 2200. The plan is to reduce manufacturing costs by using in-house chipsets, thus maintaining a higher profit margin. But the plan may backfire, as consumers no longer trust Exynos.

The other specifications are quite convincing
The processor might put off most potential buyers of the Galaxy S23 FE, but the rest of its specs are pretty convincing. We expect the same 50MP main rear camera and selfie camera found on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. The phone may also retain the 12MP super-wide camera from its more expensive siblings, although it may be downgraded to an 8MP lens with 3x zoom. Other rumored specs of the Galaxy S23 FE include 6GB/8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
