April 19. Mark your calendars and set a reminder if you've been waiting for the "pixel perfect" console remaster of Final Fantasy since Square Enix announced it last December. All six games in the series - Final Fantasy II, III, IV, V and VI - are coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on that day, and you can buy them individually or as a bundle.

Square Enix originally released the pixel-perfect Final Fantasy remaster for PC and mobile in 2021 with new 2D graphics designed for HD displays, a remastered soundtrack, and new gameplay features. The console versions will also give you the option to switch between the new soundtrack and the old one, as well as between the default font and a new pixel-based one designed to recreate the experience of the classic game. If you want to play the games without encountering enemies as you explore, you can disable random encounters, and if you want to level up without spending a lot of time on it, you can enable boost features that earn you four times as much experience points.
Proposal: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade: Will be compatible with Steam Deck
You can pre-order the entire bundle from Nintendo's eShop right now for $75, but you can also buy the first three games for $12 each and Final Fantasy IV, V or VI for $18. The PlayStation 4 versions will be available for purchase at a later date. Whichever console you choose to play on, you can get freebies (like themes or avatars) with your digital copy, with the purchase of the games until May 25. Square Enix also expects to sell physical copies of the remasters in its stores, including an anniversary edition with figures and an artbook that will cost you $260.
