YouTube Music just made it even easier to cast from your Android device to an external display with the new live lyrics feature! The synchronized lyrics scroll along with the song, ensuring you’re singing every word correctly. Google is currently testing this feature with a small group of users, but if all goes according to plan, everyone will soon have access. Get ready for a whole new YouTube Music experience! Google hasn’t made a public announcement yet, but a Redditor has already spotted the upcoming update. From now on, whenever you cast your favorite music from YouTube Music via Chromecast Ultra or Pixel 6 Pro – complete with album art, song title, and artist info – to your TV screen, live lyrics will be there too! As evidenced in the accompanying image below of this exciting update in action: all other elements have been moved to the right side of the UI, so that there’s enough space for the dynamic lyrics to appear alongside them on the left.

Initially, the Reddit user noticed that only the album art was displayed in the center. However, once the lyrics started appearing on the screen, they shifted to the right side of the screen, with the song name and artist appearing below. The lines of each lyric were clearly displayed against a blurred background that featured a magnified version of the same album art. Every few lines, more lines were revealed, while ensuring that the current line was always highlighted at the top of the screen. At the end of each track, the song’s lyricists were credited – ensuring that their hard work didn’t go unnoticed!
YouTube Music has just introduced an intuitive, user-friendly casting UI that’s reminiscent of Apple Music’s lyrics feature. If a song doesn’t have lyrics available, the album art with its rounded corners will still appear in the center along with artist and title information. The background now transitions from colorful gradients to a blurred version of what looks like an enlarged album art, as well as eliminating progress bars from this interface altogether. Clearly, Google has put a lot of thought into improving the music streaming experience for its customers!
