TikTok's algorithm is the secret recipe that makes the social network so popular. It quickly figures out what you like and is incredibly good at it.

If the algorithm is so good at recognizing people, you might wonder why you would ever need to “reset” it. Sometimes, however, one wrong move can upset its smooth course.
Unfortunately, there is no “ RESET ” button to press. The only way to truly start over is to create a brand new account. The good news is that there are some things you can do to help refresh your FYP a bit.
The first thing we can do is clear our account cache. A “cache” is simply a software feature that stores data for easy access in the future. First, open the TikTok app and go to the profile tab.

Then, tap the menu icon in the top corner and select “Settings and Privacy.”
Scroll down to the “Free up space” option.
Finally, tap "Delete" next to "Cache".
Everyone knows that liking a video is a clear sign that you like the content and want more of it. Did you know that you can also “dislike” a video? There’s no real dislike button, but you can tell TikTok that you’re not interested in the videos that appear on the “For You” page.
From the “For You” page, simply press and hold a video.
A menu will appear and you can select “I’m not interested.” If you want to be more specific about why you’re not interested, tap “More.”
Now you can select “Hide videos from this user” or “Hide videos with this audio”.

The last thing you need to do seems rather obvious, but it shouldn't be overlooked.
Unfollow accounts you are no longer interested in. Go to the profile tab and tap “Following.”
Simply tap the “Following” button to unfollow any account. The above tricks won’t come back to haunt you immediately until you’ve been using TikTok a lot, but over time they’ll help you change the course of the algorithm. Telling TikTok what you don’t like is just as important as telling it what you do like.
