ASUS' next-generation ROG STRIX SCAR 15 laptop has been leaked, featuring AMD's Ryzen 9 6900HX 'Rembrandt' processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU.

The ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR 15 G533Z laptop is a next-generation high-end configuration spotted by MyLaptopGuide. The laptop is configured with AMD’s next-generation Ryzen Rembrandt series CPU and NVIDIA’s flagship GPU for laptops. Interestingly, this laptop was leaked a full two months before its official unveiling at CES 2022. The laptop was confirmed via an FCCID registration.
So coming straight to the specifications, the top-of-the-line ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR 15 laptop is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU that will belong to the Rembrandt-H family. This CPU offers a total of 8 Zen 3+ cores and 16 threads and is based on the brand new 6nm process technology. The clocks have not been mentioned, but we expect them to be higher-performance than those currently offered in the Ryzen 9 5900HX processor. But that's not all, there is also a Ryzen 7 6800H configuration planned for this particular variant. The CPUs will also feature integrated RDNA 2 (Navi 2x) graphics chips, although we still don't know the relevant details.

The GPU side will feature the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti based on the new Ampere GA103 GPU SKU and will offer a TDP between 150W and 200W. The card is said to be available in both standard and Max-Q, with 58 compute units for a total of 7424 CUDA cores and a clock speed of 1395 MHz. The GPU also features 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, likely running at 12 Gbps speeds on a 256-bit bus. Other specs of the laptop include 32 GB of memory. The desktop RTX 3080 will still feature 17% more “higher cores” and it looks like the GPU itself has some key optimizations for faster clocks and efficiency management. The GPU has already been confirmed by a leak that happened a few days ago.

Also, the ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR 15 will allow users to choose between various NVIDIA GPUs, such as the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3060 Ti. Other specifications include support for up to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. Yes, this will be the first AMD CPU-powered laptop with DDR5 and PCIe Gen 4 support and will take on Intel's Alder Lake-P processor family. The laptop will feature a 15.6-inch display with QHD resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Given the high-end specifications, the price of this laptop will start at least $ 2500.
