Apple CEO Tim Cookshared his thoughts with his employees about Steve Jobs, 10 years after his death. The message was seen by Mark Gurman . Jobs died on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer.

In his moving message, Tim Cook said that Steve Jobs was a husband, father, friend and visionary who left behind an extraordinary legacy, while emphasizing that there is not a day that goes by that he doesn't think of him.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Steve's death. It's a time to celebrate his life and reflect on the extraordinary legacy he left behind.
Steve believed that “people with passion can change the world for the better.” That’s the philosophy that inspired him to create Apple. And it lives on in us today.
Steve was many things: smart, funny, and wise, a husband, a father, a friend, and, of course, a visionary. He challenged us to see the world not for what it was, but for what it could be. And he helped so many people, myself included, to see the same potential in ourselves. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him.
This year, like every year, we see the profound impact our products have on the world. I feel so lucky to spend our days creatinginnovative tools that connect people, inspire them to think differently, and empower them to do what they want. It's one of the many gifts Steve gave us all.
I wish Steve were here to see the way his spirit lives on in all your amazing work. But most of all, I wish he could see what you do next. Steve once said that his greatest achievements were the ones that had yet to come. He spent every day imagining a future that no one else could see, and he worked tirelessly to bring his vision to life.
Steve Jobs was a unique figure, but he taught us how to rise. I miss him and will always love him.
