One of the most interesting elements of the finale event was the return of an old acquaintance, Kevin the Cube. From his first appearance in 2018 when he was mysteriously created, to his explosion that transported players to another dimension, Kevin the Cube has been one of the most interesting things to come out of Epic Games. Players love the cube. A possible return of him has been discussed in the past. Players wanted to know where the cube was and what it did.

In yesterday's special finale event of Fortnite season 7, Kevin the Cube returned, but he also had some friends with him.
In the final moments of Fortnite season 7, players were transported to the alien mothership that was circling the island for one last attack. The enigmatic Dr. Sloan had players reach a specific location to set off explosives. Players ran through various corridors inside the mothership until they reached a large, empty room. As Dr. Sloan began to set off the explosives, a large cube began to appear in the center of the room.

Using the power of the backpacks, Dr. Sloan managed to drain Kevin the Cube's power. However, he left the players there with the giant cube. At that moment, Dr. Sloan announces some bad news. Rather than teleport the players home and risk the cube escaping, he leaves them helpless on the mothership.
In their quest to see what to do, Fortnite players discover that their backpacks had the ability to re-energize Kevin the Cube. Players gathered near the cube to join forces and managed to revive the cube, which began to glow again. The room the players were trapped in began to rise into the air. They found themselves in another place, where more cubes appeared all around. Then there was an explosion.
