The American news network CNN has fired three employees who entered the offices without being vaccinated against Covid-19, American media reports.

It is one of the first examples of a US company firing staff for violating the company's vaccination mandate. In the US, it is legal for companies to require employees to get vaccinated.
Many large companies – including Facebook and Google – say they will require employees to be vaccinated when offices fully open in the coming months.
CNN chief Jeff Zucker announced the dismissal in a company memo sent on Thursday and seen by several US media outlets.

Vaccination is mandatory for anyone who works with other employees or works in the office and not remotely, the note states.
“Let me be clear – we have a zero-tolerance policy on this,” Mr. Zucker, WarnerMedia’s president of news and sports, reportedly said.
In May, the US government said it was legal for employers to require staff attending the workplace to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Major airlines Delta and United Airlines require new employees to prove they have been vaccinated, while investment bank Goldman Sachs requires its employees to disclose whether they have been vaccinated, although it has not made staff vaccinations mandatory, the AP reports.
