How many times have you tried to download games to your Nintendo Switch and received a message about running out of space? But the latest Nintendo Switch update brings a very useful feature and helps you with the lack of space.

When you download a new patch but don't have enough space, you'll now be given the option to delete data for the older version of the software first. Here are the patch notes:
Version 12.1.0 (Released July 5, 2021)
The following system functionality has been added:
If there is not enough space in the system memory (internal storage) or microSD card when downloading game software update data, you can delete old data for that software, allowing you to download the new data.
When deleting old data, you will not be able to play the game until the new data is downloaded.
General system stability improvements have been made to improve the user experience.

See? Very simple! But it's long overdue. Now, we suppose, people can easily make room for their updates instead of getting an error message.
The update also added some "general system stability improvements," which seems to be a recurring phrase in Nintendo's patch notes.
Last month, Switch owners experienced issues downloading games following a previous stability update. As Kotaku reported at the time, a number of Switch users received a specific error code, 2123-1502, while trying to download games and updates with firmware 12.0.3 installed on their systems.

The latest update seems useful, but as any Nintendo Switch owner can tell you, there's a list of things that could or should be added. Maybe Nintendo will finally do us a favor!
