A recently launched social media site created by former members of Donald Trump's inner circle was hacked the day it was launched.

Reuters reported that social media site Gettr, a new website launched by Jason Miller, a former senior Trump adviser, was breached by a "hacker" on Sunday.
“The problem was detected and sealed within minutes and all the hacker was able to do was change a few usernames,” Mr. Miller told Reuters.
Mr Miller also said that more than 500,000 people have registered to use the site and added that the situation surrounding the site's security has been "remedied".
The new site is listed in app stores as a “bias-free social network for people around the world” in the latest attempt by high-profile conservatives to compete with Big Tech.
According to Reuters, a journalist for Salon shared screenshots of various Gettr profiles that had been altered to read "JubaBaghdad was here, follow me on twitter :)".

The outlet said accounts that had been hacked included those of former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Mr. Miller.
The official launch of the new app took place on Sunday, but the social media site was available for download as a Beta before that date, Politico first reported.
The platform features a Twitter-like dashboard with trending topics and many other similar features, allowing users to post up to 777 characters.
