The iOS 14.6 update was released last week, and since then, many users have been reporting issues with their iPhone's battery. One user said iPhone 12 Pro Max had "great battery life that turned surprisingly bad," while another said he 's been charging his iPhone all the time since installing the update.
On the MacRumors forums, one user said that the battery on his iPhone 12 Pro was draining faster than normal, but it also started to overheat while simply browsing Safari. Another user with an iPhone 12 mini described a similar experience.

Battery life issues on a phone after an update are not uncommon. The iPhone has to perform various housekeeping tasks after a fresh install, so this can temporarily affect battery life in the first few days.

However, if there is continuity, then you will probably have a problem.
With a little effort, you can find a solution to this problem. For example, some users used the Battery screen in iOS (Settings > Battery) to address the issue and found that one of the things that was affecting the battery was the Podcast app. Deleting the app solved the problem.
Of course, if someone is using this app, deleting it is not a solution. But at least they can understand what is causing the problem and decide what to do.

The Battery screen is very helpful in identifying battery problems on the iPhone. It allows users to see in detail where the iPhone's battery is being consumed, how much battery each application is consuming, etc.
If the problems continue, however, and it is determined to be a software issue, there will be a fix from Apple.
