One of the best features of Netflix is without a doubt the documentary series it offers.

From Oscar-winning series to beloved series, Netflix has documentaries for every taste. Here are 10 of the best.
Tiger King
When Tiger King was first released on Netflix, the whole world was talking about this production.
A series that moves at a rapid pace from the bizarre to the downright unbelievable, Tiger King explores the strange and hidden breeding of big cats, focusing on a cast of unforgettable (and ultimately dangerous) characters. It transports its audience to strange places and remains etched in the memory.
Icarus
One of the platform that won an Oscar.
Icarus begins as an exposé on the impact of performance-enhancing drugs on athletics, but a series of events leads director Bryan Fogel into a web of geopolitics and conspiracy. Fogel has managed to create a documentary that has had a real impact on our perception of sports as a whole. In that respect, Icarus is a literal game-changer.
The Great Hack
After the siege of the Capitol, the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica scandal seems like a long time ago. However, that doesn't make this documentary any less important. If you haven't seen it, then it's one that should definitely be on your list.

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich
Most of us have heard something about the Jeffrey Epstein case, but the series Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich is extremely informative, focusing on the stories of survivors of his abuse.
American Factory
Another Oscar-winning production is on Netflix. This documentary is the first to be produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions.
American Factory tells the story of Fuyao, a Chinese company that built a factory in Ohio that houses a now-closed General Motors plant. It's definitely one of those documentaries worth watching.

Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal
Operations Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal was recently released. It's not as far-fetched as other documentaries, like Cecil Hotel.
Operations Varsity Blues focuses on the FBI investigation into the college admissions scandal that landed actress Felicity Huffman in prison. Director Chris Smith, who previously worked on the Fyre Festival documentary, is directing. It may not be as exciting, but it's definitely worth watching.

The Last Dance
One of the sports documentaries that is considered a masterpiece on Netflix and was released during the 2020 quarantine.
The Last Dance focuses on the Chicago Bulls during the 1997-98 NBA, but it's actually a starting point for a documentary that chronicles the life of their star, Michael Jordan.
As a result, many criticized it for being a bit too focused on the famous player, but The Last Dance is a sports documentary that had a big impact.
Our planet
David Attenborough's documentaries are everywhere, but this one is one of the best of its kind. Only Planet Earth, another Attenborough work, comes close, but this one is even better.
Making a Murderer
The sheer number of true crime documentaries and podcasts makes us forget about older productions like Making A Murderer, which nevertheless managed to cause a frenzy. In many ways, it created the template that many Netflix documentaries follow. A true original.
Challenger: The Final Flight
It addresses the explosion of NASA, without revealing much new information, but it offers a very well-crafted look at the tragic events of 1986. An excellent job has been done, with access to important information and some intimate interviews with those left behind.
