Apple Watch: Users will be able to check their heart health

Apple released iOS 14.3 on December 14, 2020, along with WatchOS 7.2 – both of which include support for its new “ Fitness Plus ” subscription workout service . The workout service was first announced alongside the new iPhone 12 series and Apple Watch Series 6 in September.

At the time, Apple said that this feature uses the capabilities of the smartwatch along with an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV to give users the ability to stream video workouts and work out under the guidance of professional fitness trainers. Most importantly, users will now be able to monitor their heart health with the Apple Watch.

The service costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, or is included in the Apple One Premium subscription package for $29.95 per month. In addition to Fitness Plus, the Premier package includes Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, 2TB of iCloud storage, and Apple News Plus.

Apple gives users the ability to monitor their heart fitness levels. Cardiorespiratory fitness uses V02 max levels to determine how much oxygen your body consumes during physical exercise.

Before the update announced by the tech giant, the Apple Watch could measure V02 levels, but only at moderate or higher levels and only during outdoor walks, runs, or hikes. Now, the Apple Watch will be able to measure even low levels of your heart fitness anytime you walk.

The biggest difference, however, is that the Apple Watch no longer requires strenuous exercise to measure your V02 max and heart fitness levels. Additionally, users with low levels will receive a notification from the Health app, providing them with insights into improving their fitness.

Just like with the rest of the Apple Watch's health features, you'll need to use the Health app on your iPhone to enable Apple's new feature
