Instagram's new update gives users more control over their news feed and allows them to choose which people or posts appear more or less on their home page, based on their preferences. This means users can now choose to see more news from the people they interact with and are most interested in. Conversely, they can choose to see fewer posts from people they find annoying or uninteresting.
This setting can be found directly on the user's profile and by clicking on the "following". From there, they will see a list of everyone they follow, as well as the new update. This is a setting that will be useful for users, especially for accounts from which they do not want to receive news and notifications, or for accounts that share too many posts that "flood" the home page of the people who follow them.
This new setting comes after Instagram also added the option to view the people they follow in chronological order. This setting also allows users to better understand their news feed and “get rid” of anyone they followed a long time ago but no longer want to receive notifications and see posts from.
As a spokesperson for the app,Instagram aims to bring its users closer to the people and things that interest them. Undoubtedly, however, over time, users' interests and relationships can evolve and change, based on time period, interests, place of residence-work or other circumstances. Thus, Instagram made sure with its new update to facilitate the management of the accounts that each user follows so that they better represent their current connections and interests.
