Microsoft is expected to release the Chromium-based Edge browser in the coming months, and while development of the new application continues, a random leak has appeared that gives us more information about the progress of development.

Chris Heilmann, Program Manager of Open Web and Browsers at Microsoft, sent out a tweet with an image that includes, among other things, the new browser's taskbar icon.
As you can see in the image below posted by Heilmann, the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser has a yellow icon instead of the blue one but retains the same logo design.
The icon is also labeled “CAN,” which is an indication that the browser is still in the Canary development stage. For those who don’t know, Canary is the term used by Google for early versions of its Chrome browser and serves as a testing platform for new features that are in the experimental stage.
Two different images also reveal what the new Edge browser's installation screen will look like. #LetsBuildTogether could be a hint that Microsoft plans to show off the first version of Edge built on Chromium at its Build developer event this spring.
There is currently no confirmed date for when BUILD 2019 could take place.

The updated Microsoft Edge is expected to retain the look and features of the existing version, but Microsoft says that switching to Chromium can improve the browsing experience for all users of the application.
