Netflix's Fast.com measures your download speed

If you are interested in subscribing to Netflix and want to know what speed you will be downloading, then go to Fast.com Fast.com is a free service from Netflix itself, which first appeared two years ago. It recently received an update and can measure your upload speed as well as the delay from its servers. Given that in our country the Netflix subscription is quickly becoming known, and by giving a free one-month trial before you decide to become a permanent subscriber, it offers you the opportunity to measure in advance what speed and delay you can download. Netflix says that it has had over 500 million tests since the launch of the service, with half of them occurring in the last seven months alone. And in general it is a remarkable speed meter of your connection, but it will only show you the download speed. The upload speed is not so essential for Netflix, but it is a valuable stat to know if you are getting the speeds you pay for. The test also displays latency, broken down into “no load” and “load” categories (essentially, whether your network is busy or not) which will give you an additional perspective on how quickly your computer connects to Netflix’s servers.
