ShareTube: Watch YouTube videos in sync with your friends

If you want to watch and comment on YouTube videos simultaneously with your friends, then ShareTube is the tool you need.
ShareTube: Watch YouTube videos in sync with your friends
The most obvious method to tell a friend to watch a YouTube video is to simply send them the link and wait for them to watch it so you can comment on it together. It’s not that it doesn’t work that way, but it lacks the joy of simultaneously watching and commenting on the most important moments of the video.
Fortunately, there are many services and apps available that allow you to simultaneously watch YouTube videos with your friends who are far away from you, but today we’re going to introduce you to ShareTube. It’s free and easy to use, doesn’t require registration, doesn’t require you to provide your email, and you can create a “room” that you can add your friends to.
To get started, go to the ShareTube homepage, type a name for your “room,” and then click the “Make a room” button. On the next screen, type a username and press Enter on your keyboard.
To invite your friends to join you can simply share the link that contains the room you created or if you want you can use invitations via Facebook or Twitter from the corresponding icons in the upper right corner.
When your friends click on the link and join the room by entering a nickname, you can start watching. You can search for videos directly from YouTube or if you already know it, paste the link of the YouTube video. The first video will automatically start playing. You can continue searching and adding YouTube videos in a row even when the current video is playing.
On the right side of the video there is a field where you can have a short text chat with your friends as the YouTube video plays.
If you prefer to have video chat capabilities, there is a service called Gaze that is similar to ShareTube, but also allows you to chat with your friends while watching YouTube videos. However, Gaze doesn't let you search for videos in its interface, nor does it let you create a series of videos to play in a queue.
