WhatsApp: Bans use by those using unofficial version

issueThere are many WhatsApp applications, which come from third parties and offer better functions than the official version.

WhatsApp is the most popular and widely used messaging platform in the world. In India, the messaging platform, owned by Facebook, has millions of users. However, the platform is now trying to solve an issue. It is about downloading a third-party version of WhatsApp. For some time now, there have been quite a few users who have been using this version of WhatsApp instead of the official version.

WhatsApp is trying to combat this issue by prohibiting the use of the app for people who run a modified version of it. Some media reports confirm this. According to information, these users will have the ability to retrieve their chat history and their accounts only if they deactivate their account in the unofficial version of the app and download the official version of WhatsApp.

Have you been prohibited from using the WhatsApp application?

In the past, several reports have stated that certain unofficial versions of the WhatsApp application are available for download in the app store and many users choose them. Users are attracted to these third-party apps because of the additional and exciting features they offer, which are not available in the official version of the app.

However, while these WhatsApp applications offer many attractive features, they pose a serious threat to user privacy and data. To address this issue and allow users to avoid using these applications, the messaging platform displays a message (to users who use such malicious applications) informing that a temporary ban on using WhatsApp has been imposed on the user. It also notes that the user can use WhatsApp services again only after obtaining the official version of the application.

However, it is not entirely clear whether downloading the official version of WhatsApp will restore the chat history or if the particular user will need to start from scratch. Specifically, the recent version of WhatsApp has upgraded the platform with many features to make the chat experience more interactive. The app has added various features, such as easy file sharing, new options for WhatsApp status, group video calls, new stickers, and many more.
