Taiwanese phone maker ASUS doesn't have any events scheduled at MWC 2019. However, that didn't stop the company from making a surprise announcement and announcing the launch of its next-generation ZenFone smartphone. It also revealed the design of the upcoming smartphone in a magazine.
ASUS has placed an ad for the upcoming smartphone in a magazine given to journalists invited to MWC 2019. The magazine, of course, wasn’t given to everyone. In the ad, the ZenFone 6 is accompanied by the tagline “Defy Ordinary.” The launch date appears to be May 14th, and the event will take place in Valencia, Spain. The ad also includes an image of the upcoming smartphone, showcasing a full-screen display with an extremely narrow bezel.
In a recent leak, three prototypes of the ASUS ZenFone 6 were spotted online, giving us a first look at the possible designs ASUS is working on. One of these designs featured a display with a selfie camera in the top left corner of the screen. The prototype also revealed a vertically-placed camera, fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Unfortunately, there aren't many details about the upcoming smartphone at the moment. We'll definitely have more information in the coming days.
