The KDE Plasma desktop is one of the best Desktop Environments available for Linux distributions. It is elegant, and highly customizable to your personal needs. However, this DE comes with some behaviors that are not at all ergonomic.
For example, KDE Plasma DE doesn't remember window positions for your applications. Launch an application or open a window and it will always open in the top left corner of your screen.
Below we will see how you can fix the issue, to achieve a functionality that is simply present in all other Desktop Environments. Your applications will open in the size and position you want, regardless of whether you have chosen to save the session.
The change can currently be applied per application and not for all windows. Launch a program whose position you want to save, e.g. a browser that does not cover the entire width of the desktop, is not centered, etc.
Right-click on the window title bar, select More actions – Special application or window settings…
A separate window will open with a warning and a settings window:

In the second image (the settings window) you will see that there are four different tabs. We will use the second one which says Size & Position.
We'll tweak the first two settings and from the drop-down box, change Do Not Affect to Remember. Click the OK button. From now on, that particular program or window will start exactly where you specified, with the dimensions you selected.
