Most of us, especially those who use our computers for work, tend to have multiple tabs open at once. We use them as temporary bookmarks for things we want to do or watch later. And while it can be convenient to have multiple tabs open to have everything we want immediately available, unfortunately, this practice can slow down our device.
This habit can be a problem in some cases, simply because leaving all these tabs open, especially when using Google Chrome, results in large amounts of memory being used on the computer.
One Tab is a Chrome extension that essentially lets you keep all those tabs open, without actually having them open.
The Extension will turn all your open tabs into a list. When you need to access them again, you can restore the individual tab you need or all your tabs at once. The creators of the extension say that using it can save up to 95% of your computer's memory. This, of course, depends on how many tabs you regularly leave open, but regardless, there will definitely be memory savings.
This list of tabs can also be turned into a web page if you want, so you can share it with friends.
While this impressive feature is great in itself, the real benefit it offers is the memory savings. If you leave a lot of tabs open on a regular basis, it could potentially mean the difference between having a functioning computer and patiently waiting for each tab to load.
