This is everything Facebook knows about you!

According to the company itself, Facebook's main mission is to bring people closer together. However, by bypassing this mission, Facebook has ended up owning a "map" that contains detailed information about all those who have an account on the platform. Even if the user is careful about their movements, Facebook knows much more about all users than they think. Below you will see the ways in which personal data and information are collected.

Facebook

Creating a profile: This is where it all starts. When someone creates an account, Facebook asks for personal information such as their name, date of birth, and phone or email. Then, it asks for some information that is not necessary to create a profile, but most users enter it. These are the schools and institutions that someone attended and jobs they have done. Other information is the cities the user has lived in, current locations, and even relationship status. All of this forms the core of the profile , which Facebook uses to display ads.

User activity : The company has full knowledge of every user movement not only on Facebook but also on websites and applications connected to it. This includes places you have checked in, people, friends, pages, accounts and hashtags you have interacted with. The recording of personal information increases in the case where someone has registered their mobile number.

Messenger messages : Facebook scans everyone's messages to ban child pornography or other banned content. Although the scanning method is automated, Messenger collects information about the people you communicate with, the frequency and duration of your conversations, and also records your phone call history if you use it alongside Facebook.

Off- Facebook Activity : FB tracks users even when they are not using the platform itself. More specifically, FB partners with advertising, marketing and third-party apps. When a user finds pages on the platform and likes or goes to their official website through Facebook, a tracking cookie, known as a Facebook pixel, is used. This records users' movements, their preferences and their details.

Location: Even if someone disables location detection from the settings, the medium always understands where the user is, due to the IP address of the mobile phones, computers and other devices used to access the platform.

What doesn't he know about you?

Phone calls are not recorded and it does not use the mobile phone microphone to store personal conversations.

What about your data?

The company continues to claim that it does not sell users' data and information, but uses it to display ads and content that everyone wants. Although there have been scandals and doubts from many organizations whose actions are related to the protection of people's privacy, users do not have full control over their data.
