Pornhub: YouTube, as you may know, recently experienced an outage that lasted about an hour. Users were unable to use the website, app, YouTube TV , and YouTube Music.
But there was also a positive development during the outage. Users chose a different way to spend their time…
The outage appeared to be a boon for Pornhub. The site's traffic was up 12% during YouTube's outage, up 21% from its usual traffic.
During the outage, statistics showed that some search terms had increased in popularity much more than average levels. Essentially, people who wanted to watch a video on YouTube during the outage chose a video on Pornhub as an alternative.
The only thing for sure is that these users wouldn't realize how quickly an hour passed..
