Google Talk To Books makes your search faster

TalkLast week, Google unveiled a new search tool powered by machine learning that can read more than 100,000 books on Google Books in less than a second.

It is called “Talk To Books” because of its ability to find answers to people’s random questions, without using keyword matching techniques.

All you need to do is type your thoughts into Talk to Books and it will display excerpts from books related to your questions.

Talk to Books shouldn't be seen as an alternative to regular Google search, but rather as an experimental AI tool designed to better understand language. While it does have a search framework, its fundamental approach is completely different from that used by the company's traditional search tool.

In a blog post, Ray Kurzweil said Talk to Books is a new way to interact with books that can do sentence-level search. It performs “semantic searches” that are based on “meaning,” rather than keywords and phrases.

new search engine could save you valuable search time. The development of semantic search draws its inspiration from Kurzweil and his team’s research project, along with the development of an improved version of Google’s Smart Reply feature. However, the two projects differ in that Smart Reply focuses on paragraphs, while the AI tool returns results by matching individual sentences.

Users who ask questions may discover unexpected titles and authors, according to Kurzweil.

Google has created a new website called “Semantic Experiences” to showcase the new technology. It features a word game called ‘Semantris’ that shows how Google AI has learned to predict semantic connections between words.
