Sony has package firmware for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV consoles which includes improvements to the system's quality performance.
If you are considering applying this update, you can do so in three different ways.
- Using any available wireless network
- Connecting the device to a computer or PlayStation 3 system (PS Vita only)
- Via a compatible memory card to which you have copied the new firmware.
To be more clear, when using a Wi-Fi network, you need to go to Settings → Start → System Update → Update via Wi-Fi and the console will do the rest. It automatically searches for the new firmware and, when found, guides you through the installation steps.
When a wireless connection is not available, you can use the one already on a computer or PS3 system (must be connected to a PS Vita unit). The process is the same: Settings → Start → System Update → Update from a PS3 system connection (or Update from a computer connection).
As for the last update method, you need to save the downloadable .PUP file to an empty memory card, insert it into your PS Vita console while it's turned off, turn it on, and wait as the device recognizes and installs the new version.
And that's how you can download the new Sony PlayStation Vita / PlayStation TV Firmware 3.67 and apply it to your console.
