Fedora 26 Final: just officially released

Matthew Miller has just announced the release of the final version of Fedora 26. The Fedora distribution is available in three editions: Workstation, Server, and Atomic Host, and can run on a variety of hardware, including i686, x86_64, and ARM.

Fedora 26 features a new disk partition manager in the Anaconda installer that it uses and comes with several package updates :

“First, of course, we have thousands of improvements from the various upstream software we integrate, including new development tools like GCC 7, Golang 1.8, and Python 3.6.

We've added a new disk partitioning tool to Anaconda (the Fedora installer) as the existing feature was difficult for non-experts to use. However, this option will be appreciated by OS enthusiasts and sysadmins who want to build their own storage system from basic structural tools.

F26 also has many improvements, such as better storage of user and group information and better handling of debug information. The DNF package manager comes with a new major version (2.5) bringing many new features,” says Matthew Miller in the new release announcement.
