LG Watch Sport: Wearables are the most fun gadgets of the era and everyone seems to be creating one even though the new products are similar to those already on the market.
Following in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung, LG is entering the wearable market with the LG Watch Sport.
The Watch Sport is not the first LG smartwatch but it is one of the first smartwatches that feature Android Wear 2. It comes with LTE support and Android Pay and all of this at an affordable price of $249 with a 2‑year contract with AT & T or $349 for the unlocked version.
Let's take a look at the main specifications of the new LG smartwatch.
The LG Watch Sport comes with a 1.38‑inch P‑OLED display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels and 348 ppi, and is powered by a Quad‑Core MSM8909 Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.1 GHz processor.
It has 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage, but only 2 GB can be used due to the operating system and pre‑installed applications.
The smartwatch comes with Bluetooth 4.2 LE and Wi-Fi support. It features a built-in microphone and speaker so that it can ring and support voice commands, which are available through Google Assistant.
Like most smartwatches, the LG Watch Sport can detect barometric pressure, track your activity using the gyroscope and accelerometer, and monitor heart rate with a dedicated sensor that is placed directly beneath the case.
Since it was built with Google's help, it includes the Google Fit app, which once you try you won't want to abandon. Thanks to the app, the smartwatch can automatically recognize activity and provide real‑time monitoring.
The LG Watch Sport also comes with A‑GPS support. The GPS unit connects in one second, compared with older smartwatches that needed at least several minutes to acquire signal and lock the connection.
