Although Samsung has not yet officially introduced its digital assistant, reports claim that Bixby will be the most advanced AI technology for smartphones available on the market.
A Korean source says that Bixby will support 7 or 8 languages at launch, including English, Korean, and Chinese. The remaining languages have not been announced yet, but we will probably have to wait for Samsung's official announcement.
Currently, Google Assistant has limited support for languages other than English, so depending on the smartphone you have or the app you are using, you may or may not be able to benefit from additional languages.
A typical example is the Google Pixel/Pixel XL, which while supporting English and German, the Google homepage only understands the English dialect. On the other hand, Google Allo, the chat app, has recognition for English, German, Japanese, and Portuguese.
On the other hand, Google Assistant has Android integration, something Samsung probably won't be able to achieve right away at launch. Obviously, this is a guess based on the companies' past tactics as Samsung has never been good at developing its own software.
In addition to extensive support for multiple languages, Bixby appears to be able to take advantage of the smartphone's camera to recognize objects or text. All the user has to do is point the camera at a point and Samsung's digital assistant will try to detect it.
