Last week, the Nokia 6 made its first appearance in China, after it was listed on JD.com as having sold over 1 million units. The smartphone sold out in less than a minute, and the online retailer has set up a second sale on January 26.
With just two days left until the second flash sale begins, the Nokia 6 has already recorded 1.4 million registrations, meaning customers are increasingly interested in getting their hands on the new smartphone. Despite the fact that there is demand for this Android-running Nokia phone, reports from China stated that only 10,000 units went on sale last week.
The phone did not receive a price increase and customers will be able to purchase the Nokia 6 for $245. The smartphone launched in China first, as an exclusive sale on JD.com, but is expected to reach other markets in the coming weeks.
Only the black variant is available at this point, but we've seen reports that Nokia is preparing to launch a silver version as well. As usual, customers have to pay a $9 fee to reserve a device, which is deducted from the price of the phone upon purchase.
The Nokia 6 offers decent specs for its $245 price tag, with a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 pixel display and 4GB of RAM. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with an octa-core 1.4GHz CPU, coupled with an Adreno 505 graphics processing unit.
The internal storage is 64GB, expandable up to 256GB using a microSD. The Nokia 6 features a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual-SIM support. The rear camera is 16MP with dual-LED flash and PDAF capabilities, while the front camera is 8MP. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat.
