If the latest rumors are true, social networking giant Facebook has hired neuroscientists to create a futuristic telepathy platform.
Wondering why? Probably because he wants to pursue Mark Zuckerberg's newfound interest in human interface and create a mind-reading social network.
The company is working on a “brain-computer interface” to help people talk to each other by reading each other’s minds. This will be done using advanced neuroscience, artificial intelligence and electrical engineering, according to a report.
The report mentions some mysterious job openings advertised by the social network. The company is looking for a “brain-computer interface engineer” for the Building 8 team. It also says that the engineer will work on developing advanced brain-computer interface technologies.
For those who don't know, Facebook's Brain 8 team takes on new and cutting-edge projects. The other Brain 8 team jobs advertised are for people who are capable of building a "communications and computing platform of the future."
One of the most interesting skills mentioned on the list is experience in “speech and processing .”
You may have heard that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has talked about a telepathy-based computing platform in the future. Job postings certainly show some progress in that direction.
But at this point, we can't say anything for sure. All we can do is wait and see if we can communicate with our loved ones telepathically one day!
