The HyperDrive USB Type-C 5-in-1 Hub enhances the capabilities of your new MacBook.
The 2016 MacBook Pro, with its innovative new keyboard and monstrous touchpad, is perhaps the most beautiful laptop ever made, but it's not for everyone. The company's decision to include only four USB-C ports didn't sit well with users, forcing them to rely on expensive and bulky dongles to access an SD card or connect an external hard drive, or even charge their iPhone.
Luckily, the HyperDrive USB Type-C 5-in-1 Hub is here to make it easier for these users to use their Laptop, making it the only gadget you'll ever need. The HyperDrive is small and tidy, measuring 115 x 28.5 x 8.5 mm and weighing 34 grams.
“We designed the HyperDrive to look like a natural extension of the MacBook Pro with similar lines, thickness and rounded corners. It is made of precision CNC milled aluminum and comes in two colors, Space Gray and Silver, to match the color and look of the MacBook Pro. We also wanted an adapter that users could leave on their MacBook Pro while on the go. Therefore, we removed the long connecting cables and the HyperDrive plugs in next to the MacBook Pro like a USB,” states SANHO Corporation.
The HyperDrive has launched on Kickstarter and is built specifically for Apple's new Mac model. It's a compact and portable hub that has an HDMI port, Thunderbolt 3, a USB-C port, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, along with SD and microSD card slots. The dongle uses 45Gbps of bandwidth to power its 7 ports and allows them to be used simultaneously if needed.
While it will cost $99 at retail in the future, the cheapest super price starts at $49 if you join the Kickstarter campaign. The first models are expected to ship in February 2017, with the rest of the buyers starting in April.
