Veritas Technologies LLC announced the release of Backup Exec 16, a significantly updated version of its unified data protection and recovery solution for midsize companies.
In this category of companies, data storage needs are expected to increase by 33% over the next three years, according to a recent survey. Backup Exec 16 helps businesses address critical data protection challenges by covering all critical data across virtual, physical and cloud systems – regardless of where it resides. Microsoft Cloud: Organizations can better leverage advanced and scalable Microsoft platforms such as Azure, Windows Server 2016 and Hyper-V Server 2016. For example, Azure components are protected by creating one-pass backups and granular recovery capabilities at the file, folder or object level. Backup Exec’s flexibility can support the organization’s data protection policy choices without setting restrictions. With reliable end-to-end encryption protocols, they can ensure data security, while helping businesses store sensitive data even in the -usually more economical- cloud infrastructures.
High performance: Backup Exec helps protect VMware virtual machines by delivering speed without compromising performance while ensuring that individual files can be restored quickly. This is the patented “Instant Granular Recovery Technology” (Instant GRT), which meets high data recovery requirements.
System administrators can power on VMware virtual machines immediately after a recovery, significantly reducing the time and effort typically required to power on virtual servers from backup.
