Coca-Cola's Data Center completed by OTE

The Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Group has acquired a state-of-the-art Data Center, one of the largest in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, for the 28 countries where it operates.

The project, a €43 million investment by Coca-Cola HBC,  was built and delivered by OTE Group and is already operational. The project represented the country through the Hellenic Association of Information Technology & Communications Companies (SEPE) at the international IT awards, WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards 2016, receiving global recognition.

The implementation of the project began in September 2015 with the transfer of the systems to OTE Group. In this context, business applications, such as ERP and CRM,as well as databases, were transferred. The full transition was completed on predetermined dates, without any interruption to the operational operation of Coca-Cola HBC, while OTE Group will be responsible for the management, operation and support for the next 5 years.

For the operation of the new Data Center, more than 500 application and database servers on more than 70 physical servers, with 600TB of storage space, which will serve, 24 hours a day, all year round, the entire business activity and operations of the Coca-Cola HBC Group in 28 countries. Specifically, functions such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), the Call Center and others will be served, with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) being the most important, as Coca-Cola HBC receives more than 18.5 million orders annually.

Regarding the state-of-the-art Data Center of the Group Coca-Cola HBC , the Group's IT Operations Director, Galip Onar, noted: "We are particularly pleased with the completion of this significant investment in Greece, which creates added value for our Group and highlights the country's prospects. Today, some very important Coca-Cola HBC operations are hosted in Greece, which are now supported by one of the largest Data Centers in Europe."
