Notepad++ 7.0 is the latest version of the popular text and source code editing application. It is a program only for devices running Windows. We have occasionally mentioned the application in many iGuRu.gr publications where edits are required, as it is free and one of the best available. 
We have been using the application for many years, avoiding Windows Notepad for many different reasons.
One of them: Try editing a php file with Windows notepad and then upload it to a Linux server. Then download the file and open it with Notepad++. The text formatting will convince you.
The new version of the popular program comes with a long list of new features and improvements compared to previous versions.
The new Notepad++ 7.0 is also available in a 64-bit build which you can download in a portable version or as an exe installer from the project website.
Among the improvements we consider important is the fix that allowed DLL hijacking by malicious users.
The automatic updater has a new option that allows you to disable it via a prompt.
As for new features, there are quite a few: You can set Notepad++ 7.0 to automatically close if you close the last tab, for example.
You can find it in Settings – Preferences – General – Exit on closing the last tab.
Other features include support for Ruby, an option to perform Internet searches on selected words in the text content, and new editing options (title, sentence case, etc.).
It should also be mentioned that it resolves issues with hdpi screen density, and auto-completion in XML.
