Noisegate? The first to spot the flaw was Stephen Hackett, from the blog 512 Pixels. He first noticed the flaw while restoring his device from iCloud. Hackett realized that the noise was not coming from the speaker, but from the device itself. You can hear the sound in the video below.
But there are others who have identified the same flaw as Hackett on their devices (we're always talking about the iPhone 7 Plus), one of them is former Apple PR employee and TechCrunch editor Darrell Etherington.
At the moment, it's unclear whether the "noisegate" is endemic to all iPhone 7 Plus devices, or only appeared on a few defective models. Apple has said that after reporting the problem, Stephen Hackett can return his phone to an Apple Store for a replacement.
@ismh brand new, just-unboxed doing the same thing right now. did not restore, set up as new (still DL-ing email etc)

The iPhone 7 Plus is an incredible phone in terms of processing power. Its Google Octane V2 score, which measures how fast a phone is at processing JavaScript, is nearly eight times faster than the rival Samsung Galaxy S7.
The A10 Fusion processor is like putting a Ferrari engine on a phone.
This has led many to suspect that the processor is the one causing the noise. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed by the company yet. We'll wait and see.
