Denuvo's game protection system cracked

For some time now, German company Denuvo has been making a lot of money with its anti-piracy software for video games. The company develops anti-tamper software with “anti-tamper” technology that makes it very difficult to “tamper” files that allow you to play games without a license. denuvo

However, it seems that its revenues will decrease in the near future.

TorrentFreak reports that a Bulgarian hacker known as Voksi discovered a way to bypass the technology used by Denuvo, which allowed the public to play pirated copies of games like Doom and Just Cause 3. However, this loophole was soon closed.

Now, a group of hackers called CONSPIR4CY have managed to completely crack the protection of Rise of the Tomb Raider, a Square Enix game that was released in January. The pirated version of the game is circulating on numerous file-sharing websites, along with three DLC add-ons.

Of course, the incident is a huge blow to Denuvo's reputation, although it's worth noting that only one game has been fully cracked to date, and it's unclear how long it took the hacking team to crack it (although it doesn't matter once they cracked it).

The incident proves that nothing is secure, and that there can be no keys on the internet. There will always be people looking for ways to beat the system, and some of them will succeed.
